La Serrana es una bailaora que destaca en escenario por su fuerza y finura. Esta artista de origen libanes siempre está en busca de la esencia dentro del Flamenco. Desde que tiene uso de la memoria recuerda sentirse embrujada por el flamenco. Cuando empezó su carrera universitaria, por fin conoció a una profesora, pero lo que pudo aprender con ella no era suficiente para esa mujer joven e impaciente. Después de cuatro años, en 1999, decidió dejarlo todo para poder aprender a bailar flamenco y cumplir su sueño. Viajó a Sevilla y empezó a estudiar de manera intensiva.

Ha aprendido con grandes maestros tales como Matilde Coral, Manolete, Manuela Carrasco y Carmelilla Montoya. Sin embargo, ella debe su “sello” a la familia Farruco y especialmente a Farruquito. Se puede decir que ella es uno de los nuevos valores de esta escuela, ya que lleva estudiando diariamente con los Farruco desde el año 1999. En este mismo año, La Serrana abre las puertas de su academia en Sevilla. Desde entonces imparte clases tanto en Sevilla como en el extranjero, donde cuenta con el apoyo de los Gobiernos. Sus alumnos la valoran, porque, aparte de técnica, transmite la importancia de la improvisación, el sentido de los diferentes palos y el sentimiento dentro del baile. Es algo que con los montajes de hoy en día, a veces se olvida. En escenario ha trabajado con El Canastero, Antonio Zúñiga, Mara Rey, El Perla y El Choro. Actualmente, le acompañan Jesús Flores (cante), Gabriel de Pies Plomo (cante) y Luis Amador (toque).

Entre los años 2000 y 2001 comenzó a actuaren teatros, tablaos flamenco y peñas de Sevilla, Cádiz alicante Murcia y Extremadura.
En el año 2002-2003 La Serrana formó su compañía. Desde entonces ha actuado e impartido clasese en países como Los Estados Unidos, Irlanda, Los Países Bajos, Bélgica, Malta y Turquía.
En el 2004 estrenó en Los Países Bajos su espectáculo “Volver a Tiempos Perdidos”donde cosechó gran éxito por su valor histórico al recuperar cantes y bailes olvidados. Ha llevado ese espectáculo por todo el mundo desde entonces.
En 2007 estrenó su espectáculo “Peña Flamenca” una apuesta atrevida en que los artistas han optado por trabajar sin micrófonos ni luces, creando así en el espacio del teatro un ambiente de peña. . La Serrana creó este espectáculo especialmente para el extranjero, donde no se suele poder encontrar el ambiente íntimo de la peña.
Fue directora artística del Primer Festival de Flamenco de Irlanda, que se celebraró en el año 2008 y donde también presentaró uno de sus espectáculos.
En 2009 se estrenó su espectáculo Bandera Flamenca. Ha escrito todas las letras y cuenta con la ayuda de importantes nombres del flamenco actual.

La Serrana is a flamencodancer who distinguishes herself on stage by her strength and elegance. In the first stage of her career, she studied with Matilde Coral a renowned dancer who taught the women of Seville her elegant and personal way of dancing flamenco. Later, to get a better understanding of the roots and soul of flamenco, she danced with Manolete, Manuela Carrasco y Carmelilla Montoya, all famous gypsy dancers from renowned flamenco families. There she learned a way of dancing to interpret cante. Her style blossomed to its fullest however, when she began studying with the Farruco family, especially with Farruquito, who is the head of the youngest generation of one of the longes revered gipsy dynasties from Seville. La Serrana started studying with him in 1999 and has been studying with him ever since. In a way, La Serrana owes her style to him. Since 1997 La Serrana has performed and has given classes all over Spain, Europe and the United States. In 1999 she opens the doors of her own academy in Seville. She is a very passionate teacher, who tries to transmit the ice of improvisation and feelings while we are dancing, things that nowadays, we tend to forget. On stage, she worked with celebatraties such as El Canastero, Antonio Zúñiga, Mara Rey, El Perla and El Choro. Her own company is formed by Jesús Flores (singing), Gabriel Pies Plomo (singing), and Luis Amador (guitarr)


Untill now, La Serrana made two big shows as a choreografper and dancer. The first is called “Volver a Tiempos Perdidos” (back to ancient times) In this show, La Serrana, 4 dancers, two singers and two guitarrists recuperate old styles of dancing and singing, that had almost been forgotten. “Volver a Tiempos Pérdidos” not only has great histórical value, but also gives an evening of strong and sensitive, beautifull and colorfull flamenco.

In her second show “Peña Flamenca” La Serrana dares to go back to basic even more. With only one guitarrist, two singers and herself, she knows how to put the very intimate and authentical atmosphere of the peña on stage, without being able to use microphones nor fancy lights. A real experience for the beholder and an ode to the pure flamenco.

She was the art director for the First Irish Flamenco festival that took place in 2008. At the same festival, she performed with Peña Flamenca.
Lately, she has been working on a new show, for with she wrote alle the lirics. The show " Bandera fFlamenca" had its prémier in the autumn of 2009, in the Lucent Danstheater at the flamencofestival of the Hague.
